Purchase Assistance
[ I am skeptical as to how serious this is, but... ]
If your friend wants to buy a new jet he can probably convince a salesman to fly the aircraft to him at YVR by prepaying the round-trip costs. If he wants to purchase a used one he will most likely be dealing with a broker, as few end-users of such jets will handle the sales personally.
Either way, he would be wise to hire someone to assist him in the purchase. The cost of such an individual is small compared to the purchase price and potential savings if a huge mistake is made. There will still be room for you on the test flights.
Of course, someone has to fly the thing. Unless he is looking to hire someone to provide the crew or manage a small flight department (in which case he should probably consult these people and not just his "buddy in Vancouver"), he might want to look into a shared ownership company just to minimize the hassles.
If you are indeed serious, PM me. I live in Vancouver and can probably help you get pointed in the right direction.
