One of the large military transport planes that was used in the evacuation of people from Wollaston Lake is set to fly to Winnipeg for repairs after it was sidelined with some wing-tip damage.
The Hercules aircraft has been sitting at the Points North Landing airstrip for about a week.

I saw the plane in Points North a couple days ago. It looks ok with the exception of a one meter area on the leading edge. It punctured the leading edge so they have no bleed air for pressurization or anti ice.

The pressurization and anti-ice are separate systems (which both stem from the engines or GTC bleed air, to two AC packs; flight deck and cargo.) It can also be flown without pressurization but 02 has to be worn. The bigger issue would be possible fuel leak if forward spar damaged, I've seen that done by a bird strike. It punctured the leading edge so they have no bleed air for pressurization or anti ice.

Ok good to know. I was talking to the Engineer and he mentioned they would have to fly < 10,000 feet and in VMC. I just filled in the rest. Took a nice little chunk out of the building as well!
