AGL is replacing CMA in Calgary with B1900's. They will be branded in express colours. They are also looking for hgr in YVR that would put GGN in YHZ, YUL, YYZ, YYC and YVR not to mention a growing Africa base with 2 aircraft now and on the hunt for more.

What would Georgian want with a hangar out in YVR?? There hasn't been any AC power by the hour flying out of YVR in at least 5 years.... Unless AC is thinking of giving the Penticton flying back to a Tier III, I can't really see any need for Georgian to be setting up a base on the west coast...

I haven't heard of anything other than three planes in Calgary. There is a chance that Africa will extend past the summer and they are always looking for opportunities. There is no base in YUL, but there is flying from there. The interest is there to find a Dash 8 if the opportunity is right.

Good on them, top notch organization and top notch people judging by the ones I have come across. Glad to see they are adapting and expanding.

what are they doing in africa?
Mining contract for Kinross Africa, flying workers to/from Gold mines in Western Africa, mainly Mauritania and Ghana. My understanding was there was only 1 plane there, and it is also operated by Execaire with GGN providing crew and maintanence.

Does CMA fly any routes for AC out of YVR or just their own routes??

GGN is getting set up geographically to pick up the next piece of AC CPA work that comes up for tender. Chorus should buy GGN to prevent the erosion in margin and to eliminate a competitor.

That would probably be a good idea! They are setting up across the country and they were, a few months back, apparently working towards getting a 705 OC (that might have been an avcanada rumour only though...)

I think Air Canada wants Jazz to have competition. Chorus is smart enough to know that by buying a competitor it eliminates them as a competitor making them less attractive to Air Canada. (poorly worded sentence, I know)

Basically what I'm saying is Jazz needs to reduce it's exposure to Air Canada, not increase it.

If Air Canada's long term vision is to diversify its outsourced flying they will make it happen, one company trying to stop that by buying up all the competition is a pretty bad idea.
