Very cool videos, thanks for sharing.

Does anyone know what is involved with the calibration process and how it works? I tried googling but not much explanation there.

This was a cool read regarding how it was done back in the day

Calibration involves the comparison of a computer in the plane and the actual reading given off the ILS. A GPS is set up in close proximity to the localizer and glide path and the plane is flown according to those reading. The difference between the GPS readings and the actual given off the ILS is the error and I believe it has a 3% error tolerance. If problems are found there are ground guys standing by with radios that tweak the monitors in order to get within tolerance. The whole ordeal takes around 10-15 approaches per ILS to complete and about 2 hours traffic depending. Thats what I got out of it from being on the RJ.

One of the technicians also told me that in the next couple months CBC will be airing an episode which they have already filmed where they go up in the plane and I'm sure it will explain alot more.
