Does anyone know about JAR medicals in Canada?
I have a job opportunity in Europe but the employer would like me to have JAR medical done prior to leaving Canada. Does anyone have any information as to getting one done in Canada? Information would be greatly appreciated.

You cannot get an initial JAR medical in Canada. You can renew 'em here, though.
Initial has EEGs and blood tests and takes about two days to do. We get ours in Dublin when we are over there, or Gatwick.

Actually, if you have a valid non JAA class 1 medical, you can do an "extended renewal". It took me half a day. You might want to check if you need an ATPL to go with the medical. I have one so it wasn't an issue for me.
Bad news was, it had to be done in the UK. In my case, in Gatwick.
Good news was that it only took half a day and I got to miss some of the more exoteric testing.
Now I'm good for a normal renewal, which can be done in Canada.
