Can you get your FAA ATPL from any schools in Canada? I know you can do FAA medicals in Canada but can you get you get the ATPL done at any affiliated schools in Canada?

Your question doesn't make sense. If you hold a Canadian ATPL you can convert it to a self-standing FAA ATP if you:

- get a verification letter
- do an FAA medical
- write the ACP
- visit a FSDO in the USA
- do a BFR

For your convenience, you could write the ACP at a Canadian FTU, I suppose. The rest you do yourself.

Rumour is if you just want the American license there are many less expensive FTUs in the US.

If you just want an FAA Private Pilot Certificate, based upon your foreign ICAO Canadian PPL or CPL or ATPL, you can get on via FAR 61.75 if you

- get the verification letter
- visit a FSDO

No medical, no written test, no flight test required. You should probably do a BFR, though.

An FAA PPL issued IAW FAR 61.75 allows you to act as PIC of an US registered aircraft outside of Canada.

Well, my friend holds an FAA COMM license and was sched to go to the USA to obtain the ATPL as he meets all the requirements now. 3 days before his departure the school told him he needs a TSA clearance, but he was told by TSA that since it wasnt initial training he would not require it. Now the school has withdrawn him. He only has a certain amount of time available to obtain this ATPL on his time off. Yes, he could just go there and deal with it, but if it takes 3 weeks or something to get the TSA clearance then he basiclly will have no time left to do the training. So we were just looking for other options.........
