Just wondering if anyone has info (as much as possible would be nice) on this gig (ie; pay, hours, lifestyle, contract length, etc) could not find much here doing a search.

Good money for flight instruction, with essentially new aircraft. Monday to friday, stats off, evenings mostly off.

Inexpensive housing within a 5 minute walk of the hangar. Superb ground facilities.

And don't forget the students are extremely motivated!!!!

Instructing jobs in Canada do not get any better than this.

You get paid regardless if you fly (ie weathered out).

Flightsuit, boots, gloves, helmets - all provided.

CF instructor certification granted - checkride is done by CF Pilots.

Aerobatics, low level Nav, formation flying.

You can commute from Winnipeg if you like big city living. Portage/Southport is a good place to raise a family.

I just finished up my CF instructional tour there - a good number of my friends are current Allied Wings instructors.

Don't want to spoil the party here but why are they always looking for instructors? either F/W or R/W.

There has been a lot of growth in the company over the last few years, so many new hires. The number of instructors at AW has pretty much doubled since 2008. Phase 2 instructors are typically drawn from the available pool of Phase 1 instructors, so any growth in phase 2 means hiring at the phase 1 end. I averaged about 350 hours per year flying, but like SAR_YQQ said, if you don't fly, you still get paid. Like any FTU, it is still instructing so some do get bored and move on, however the working conditions, pay and overall lifestyle are decent. I think everybody here has summed it up pretty good. It's not a great environment for time bulding to go elsewhere, but if you really enjoy instructing, you can make a career out of it and live comfortably. The contract with DND is good until 2027, so there is job stability. I'm not R/W so I can't speak for their side of the house.

They will fly you out there for a couple of days, provide accommodation etc during their interview process. They will give you a PGI to prep then you will do that flight with them in the Grob followed by a flight with their CFI
