Re: Col Muammar Gaddafi captured - BREAKING NEWS
I will not gloat over the death of a person no matter how much of an ass he/she was. However I find it interesting that in both this case and Sadam's case and I imagine most others they end up begging to not be shot. He killed ,raped and tortured his own people for decades and now that the jig is up he whimpers like a scared puppy. I hope they do the right thing.

I'll be raising a glass of single malt in honour of our CF-18 squadron based in Italy as having contributed to the death of this POS.

How's that? Bombing Libyan people and their vital infrastructure for which they depend day and night, just so that we can arrest/kill one person? Ludicrous to me, but you have a right to toast by all means....If they really wanted him, they would've it only taking him out, but the point West went in there was because of something more precious to them then this POS as you say....The Old Fogducker wrote:I'll be raising a glass of single malt in honour of our CF-18 squadron based in Italy as having contributed to the death of this POS.

-What vital infrastructure was bombed in Libya? Other than the Libyan people firing at their own, who else was deliberately targeted?
-Tell me where in the UN mandate it said that the goal of the operation was to arrest/kill 1 person?
I happen to be very, very familiar with both answers and look forward to your reply.

Its all about the alcohol with you isnt? BTW i find your ilk pretty disgusting how they celebrate the death of a human being. The Old Fogducker wrote:I'll be raising a glass of single malt in honour of our CF-18 squadron based in Italy as having contributed to the death of this POS.

Some deaths warrant celebration.
I would raise a glass of fine Tennessee Whiskey, however I'm on call.

Yup .... this is the only time I can recall feeling good about seeing people in the street firing AK-47s into the sky and dancing around like the Whirling Dervishes sect.
Way 'ta go NATO and the rebels. One more coward terrorist scumbag sponsor of terrorism dead..... shot down in the street like "The mad dog of the Middle East" that President Ronald Reagan described him as.

Following your logic there Foggy, I guess you'll be in a right ole stupor if they ever hang up George Sn., Billy Boy and his Wife, George Jr, and Mr. Obama then? Not to mention Blair, Sarkozy, and of course any leader of Israel? I mean if you're looking to hold those responsible for state sponsored terrorism accountable, you may as well aim high, right?

I personally find it hard to get upset when a very bad man is no longer roaming the planet. I find it fascinating that so many here mourn his passing. This says an awful lot about them.

Nope .... they're on "our side" STL .... of course you have no such view, but hey .... that's OK, because there are far more folks like me than those who hold views similar to yours.
That said, you can express almost whatever views you want thanks to those who have gone before us.
I sincerely hope that you aren't defending Ghadaffi's sense of values and actions. But hey .... who cares who or what you support, its your right to do whatever you choose.

Ahh the good old days of Mad Dog Ghaddafi. Im glad he at least lived long enough to kill a lot of Americans/Europeans and make life miserable for a lot more. Not too many African leaders of the former colonies got their revenge but at least he did. And his support to the Druze in Lebanon during the war, will always be appreciated as well as to the IRA, and many other revolutionaries the world over. But he spent the last few years throwing lavish parties for his sons in Europe, paying celebrities millions to entertain him, and using Libyas riches to subsidize his sons (and their Israeli girlfriends) hobbies. While the Euorpeans and Americans let their countries and their women be playgrounds for him. His time has come, a good time for the people of the Arab world, 30 years too late for the West.
The west lost all dignified standing they had with me (not too much BTW) when they brought him out of the cold and treated him like a son and a brother after all he did and while he was doing what he was doing to his people. A shameful legacy, especially to Berlisconi, the dog on the other side of the water, who although probably wont get it, deserves the same fate as his former (and until a few months ago, very close) friend

Avionics techs are THE best trolls!
I wonder why that is? I guess they have lots of time on their hands, while their customers are being billed obscene amounts of money.

Even "The Hanoi Jane's Husband Network" .... CNN .... is overjoyed at the death of poor Moammar .... and jeepers .... a whole lot of Libyans seem to be pretty happy about the whole situation too ... I wonder whats up with that?
http://www.cnn.com/2011/10/20/world/afr ... ?hpt=hp_t1
A NATO bomb stopped his escape, then the cowardly dog hid in a culvert full of garbage .... so much for his plan to die as a martyr. Closer to dying like an unclean pig.
Here is a bit of video after they had dragged him from the culvert. Notice how loved he is by his fellow Libyans who are obviously filled with regret over the poor leader of the people collecting hot lead to the head.
http://www.foxnews.com/world/2011/10/20 ... nder-says/
Its too bad that he took a round to the head actually ... he should have suffered a lot more, then gone through the humiliation of a trial.
This video is my equivalent of the type of joy that scummy supporters of Al Qeada must have felt when the video of Daniel Pearl being beheaded by Khalid Sheikh Mohammed was released.
http://video.foxnews.com/v/122887624500 ... dafis-body
Next comes the issue of who will be taking this scumbag's place .... "The Brotherhood" perhaps?

When you've been to half the places I've been on this planet Foggy, it might just jar you out of that little world you live in, but as you say, "it your right to do whatever you choose." So if that's play ostrich and stuff your head in the sand, well by all means carry on, just be prepared to be refuted once in a while when you post your junk.
I find you pretty amusing most of the time.

Not at all Rockie .... Ted Turner is still a major shareholder in CNN after its sale. He still has condideable influence in its editorial direction, and if you think Jane Fonda has repented and changed her fundamental personality after giving succor to the enemy and therefore betrayal of the armed forces deployed in SE Asia, you've got your head in a hole .... oh, I forgot.... of course you do.Rockie wrote:Jesus Foggy, that was 39 years ago. If two hundred million people are "like [you]," and hold views dissimilar to mine, well, it just proves that truth really means nothing in many cases, now doesn't it? (Referencing as one small example the %75 of Americans who believed Saddam was involved in 9/11 of course, remember that?) But that's ok, I'm sure you're a "safety in numbers" kind of guy... Sleep well knowing "they" are looking out for your safety. Good grief...

I find most all of the left to be absolutely knee-slapping hilarious .... not at all unlike watching an excerpt from a Cheech & Chong movie with a little "Easy Rider" thrown in.

Re: Col Muammar Gaddafi captured - BREAKING NEWS
What is knee slapingly funny is watching someone so entrenched in the unproductive and stagnant idea of partisan politics fumble his way through various explanations of how the world works until he finds one Scotch worthy, regardless of the greater consequences of said simplification. What's it like to define yourself as "Right?" I'm really curious, as it seems you spend most of your energy and time tailoring your world view to selected tidbits of information - and I use the word loosely - provided by sources who would be laughable did they not command a significant following of "people like [you]."
I'm sick and bored today, otherwise I'd just ignore your ramblings like I normally do, but it's scary to think some young person might read your postings and fall prey to your ideas - the world is a closed enough and unjust place as it is.
"Left," that's funny, whatever it means...

Re: Col Muammar Gaddafi captured - BREAKING NEWS
I'm not losing any sleep over him. Regardless of the unaccounted for evils of other men, he was responsible for some pretty heinous shit, and paid for it at the hands of his own people. Would I be very upset if Bush was arrested for allowing torture, or invading Iraq on false pretenses? No. But I don't want him arrested in Canada, because of the huge effect that would have on our relations with our largest trading partner. We're never going to get rid of everyone who's ever done bad things, but there's no reason not to have some satisfaction that some of them at least are finding some sort of justice.
Having a drink to celebrate that someone had the shit beat out of them and got "shot like a dog in the street", rather than facing an (in theory) impartial court is messed up though.

no sig because apparently quoting people in context is offensive to them.
Re: Col Muammar Gaddafi captured - BREAKING NEWS
I guess you've never learned anything since 1972 have you Foggy? Not even the fact that grinding an axe relentlessly for 39 years is more than a little weird and obsessive.
