Childern of the Magenta

Post by Nark »

I saw this in one of the American forums I frequent.

As we had a topic recently about this very subject, it's appropriate to share.

Maybe 15(?) years ago or so, we had to watch a couple of his videos followed by a simulator session
I remembered it as 'knights of the magenta"
Years later colleagues still talked about it.
Automation dependency. Very recommended!

Excellent video, this should included into the groundschool of every large aircraft operator. Far too many people are going to see this movie and scroll through it before returning to internet surfing; they will be missing out. Everyone knows how important it is to simply "fly the plane first" and avoid automation numbness, but this presentation explains it better than most people could.
What's it doing now? Nothing, because we're flying it.

Sidenote...nice to see an effective presentation go on for 25 minutes with only 3-4 slides.

Awesome video I found it really informative. :D I wonder if there is a place to watch more of these videos or maybe if someone has access to them and could post a link. Also would love to see more sim session vids found one or two on YouTube and find them really informative and would like to see more.

Wishing everyone

Top Notch! Should be included in every initial 705 groundschool, IMHO.

I use to watch this video at recurrent training at Simuflite in Dallas each year until they were informed that they were not licensed to show it outside of American Airlines.

If you are above to view it here, it is well worth it.
