What does Air Canada want to see in a resume?
Congrats to all who recently joined Air Canada.
I've updated my app several times and I'm just patiently waiting for an invite when the hiring continues along with the other 1000+ applicants.
I work for an airline in the United States flying the E170 with 5,200TT and 3200TT in type and I'm in the process of interviewing with a certain Middle East carrier which requires a three year commitment and I don't want to miss my chance with Air Canada if the hiring continues.
Survey:
If you don't mind sharing, what was the range of experience levels of the new hires regarding TT, turbine, PIC turbine, and education? And were there any individuals with SIC turbine only?
Thanks for sharing.....Decisions Decisions

A cheque for $50k would probably be ideal

If possible...Its better to stop then land...than land then stop!

Best guess here.
You have enough flying time , 3000+. Most seem to have 5000+ so far.
They are presently looking for some degree of command time, 1-2000 , King Air or larger. Not a deal breaker though.
As you read elsewhere. Some form of post secondary education seems to be a must at present. Aviation College, University degree in anything...something post-secondary for sure, at present.
In the interview process the COG screen tests have been a deal breaker for some pilots. No real advise on that part of the process.
That is the best that I can provide. No one in power seems willing to discuss any aspect of the hiring process. Hiring is projected to be in the order of 20 a month for some time to come. Over 500 retirements in the next five years.
Best of Luck.

Re: What does Air Canada want to see in a resume?
Good info!!
I completed the Airframe and Powerplant Program at Westwood College of Aviation Technology down is Houston, Tx where I received an FAA Mechanic Certificate which does me no good in Canada. So hopefully it's good for something on my resume in the selection process. Fingers crossed!!
Thanks!!!

JD,
Sounds like you have accumulated some great experience, I'm assuming you are legally able to work in Canada and have a Canadian ATPL?

Yep! I'm a Canadian resident and I have my TC ATPL. I live in Toronto and commute to Columbus, Ohio where I'm based.
Re: What does Air Canada want to see in a resume?
hey all, just wondering I have my own bussiness in constrcution and a diploma in the construction field to go with it. Just wondering does anyone know how A/C HR looks at people having there own business should I put it on my resume. Also does my diploma count for anything I mean I guess I can tic one more box but when (and if) they call will they just discount it as its not a managment diploma. Any insight you guys can offer would be most helpfull. sorry for the hijack but is sorta on the topic lol
