RCMP hiring

RCMP hiring. Recently put in a application online for the RCMP. Has anyone heard from them?

I was curious about this as well. The only follow up that I received was on the Government of Canada website saying that my resume had been forwarded off for further review.

Wonder if this is the Government way of giving a PFO?

Are you a serving member of the RCMP? I think they hire from within.

I didn't say it was a requirement.

Apparently they don't normally hire From within. Just seems like quite a while. Think I might call and see what's up. What's the harm?

Any updates? Anyone know anything on hiring timelines or if these positions were filled?

Not sure what the RCMP is like; but many federal government jobs that go through the public service commission can regularly take 8 - 14 months. You put in an application and about a month after you've given up any hope of hearing back, you finally hear from them. You'll write a test or something, and again, many months will pass. Long after you've given up hope, you get a call for an interview, and so it goes.

Between family & close friends, I've known probably 20 people who have gone through that with the PSC.

Hopefully departments & agencies that do their own hiring have a somewhat more streamlined process.
