Flight Training in Calgary

Post by hallian98 »

Can anyone suggest a good flight training school in Calgary? Does anyone knows if Alberta government gives student loan for CPL training? I just finished my Private and thinking of resuming my training in Calgary. Any suggestions will be highly appreciated. Cheers.

I'd definitely recommend Calgary Flying Club. I'm only taking my PPL right now but it's been a great experience and the instructors are great. Tom the CFI is a great guy and great instructor, I'm sure if you ask to talk to him he can give you all the info you need.

As for loans, yes, the government gives loans for the CPL. In fact Calgary Flying Club can give you a loan application package for Alberta Student Loans. I'd also look into Bank of Montreal's Brain Money program (at least that's what it was called when I got a student loan back in the early 2000's).

Don't forget also that if you so much as take one lesson for your CPL, your entire PPL expenses become tax-deductible and you can claim them on your next return.

They're all gone. I'm pretty sure Morgan Air was the last one there. You have to go to High River, Okotoks or YBW now.
