SimCom Dallas tips
Changing things up a bit this year, and heading to SimCom in Dallas for recurrent sim. Previously used FSI in Wichita. I've heard the SimCom program is good (and is surely to be a nice change from FSI), so I'm not too worried there. What I want to know is if anyone has any recommendations for accommodations, or other tips to offer (for example, the Hilton at Wichita would package a lunch and deliver it to FSI) while training in Dallas.
Many thanks!

There's quite a few decent hotels on both sides of the training centers. I did CAE last time in Dallas and used one of the Hilton properties in Irving to the South. There's also Grapevine to the North. Both are pretty similar distance and have a lot of urban /retail around so it's easy to get food and supplies while there.
A rental car would help make things easier, but almost all of the mid-grade hotels such as Marriott and Hilton have their shuttles stop by the sim centers both for drop off in the morning and pick up in the afternoon, since so many people use them for the 1-2 week courses.

We use the Homewood suites in Los colinas (free breakfast and dinner) Nice place with a kitchen in each room. If you have a rental car you should go and try Papa's bar b q or Papasitos for some of the best mexican food In town. It is off Northwest highway close to DAL.
