Anyone been given a stand by offer for a course?

Did you get in? What was the timeline? What happened if you didn't get in?

I started out with a Standby offer, got my medical and did all the necessary paperwork, and was confirmed with a training spot within a couple of weeks.

Everyone on my course also started out with a Standby seat, they didn't offer any of us a "firm" spot at first. They seem to start with Standby for everyone. I would take it as a sign that there is a very good chance you'll be offered a training spot.

If you received a standby, did you receive the intro to aviation CD just in case?

Yes. I received a standby offer a few weeks ago and received the CD.
