How do you unwind on your downtime?

Post by cargo_guy »

Just wondering what do you do for fun/relaxation on your downtime? What are your hobbies?

I work two jobs, so right now I'm spread pretty thin. Don't get much down time to speak of and it seems when I do I've forgotten how to relax. If I had more time I'd like to take up Brazilian Jiu-jitsu and become a cage fighter.

I'm serious about the Jiu-jitsu stuff!

I visit avcanada

Seriously though... I go roller-blading, jogging, and play soccer. Also, I enjoy watching tv, especially Macgyver! If I'm really bored, I read the CARs :D

Isn't that Northlands Golf Course, Bandaid? The fairway doesn't look familiar, but those trees sure do!

I prefer to view all time as down-time. I just do what I do. Airplane, motorcycle, VISA bills, TV, beer, birding, moping, hoping, camping.

Life is one big hobby.

I find kayak touring to be a rewarding endeavor and great way to unwind. It's nice to disappear (sometimes).

Cheers.

Well if you want to you can check out a video of my last year's adventures

http://members.shaw.ca/d5grvty/D5GRVTY.avi (about an 8mb download)

Just save it to your computer and try to play it, if you get an error that the video won't play properly you probably need the correct Codec (the decoder for the compression I used for the video) Download it here
http://www.koepi.org/XviD-1.0.3-20122004.exe and install it. The vid should play fine after that.

That's what I do to unwind......

In my downtime, I go to work and instruct. But of course for me instead of downtime from work, I need downtime from studying. I find when I go to work, my mind is completely clear of all the school stuff I was thinking about earlier, and it gives me a really good break from the studying. I don't really see it as work, but as a fun thing to do.

During the summer, I instruct full time instead, and in my downtime, I sleep, hike, socialize, read normal books (instead of textbooks), tinker with my computer.

I enjoy a nice relaxing day at the gun range, bustin off a thousand rounds of surplus soviet or nato ammunition. It's breathtaking, and so loud that you cant hear any planes going over. For that matter you cant hear the three squad cars pulling up behind you either. Guess what province I currently live in ?
