IFR study materials
Hi I would like to start studying for my instrument rating but I cannot decide between using the Pultz book or taking an online IFR ground school through pilottraining.ca can anyone recommend one?
Thanks

Re: IFR study materials
Pultz is easy to navigate through although there are a number of errors in the practise exams and it has an extremely small section on gps. You will need to supplement the pultz with something else to learn the gps navigation and approaches. I used it for self study and fared well with it.
Re: IFR study materials
I recently got my Multi IFR back after a twenty year laspe. I did study and passed my written exam with 88 %, I bought a course on line for about $40. It is available at www.canadapilot.com the Inrat Study Course. The Best $40 in aviation I ever spent.
worth $300. Just beofre I went to write the exam I went and took a weekend Aero Course in Toronto. Great Stuff.
I still log onto www.canadapilot.com and review the IFR stuff. It doesnt expire and they update regularly. Awesome little course. I found it by accident and sure glad I did.
Good Luck.

Oh by the way, I used a Pulse Book years ago and then bought another one, It was so out dated.
my recommendation is NOT THAT ONE !!! First hand experience. Much better books.
The Areo Course book at least gives you the meat, and there is a link out their web site that gives you the refernces to look up the material.

I have to second rapid602 on this one. I used the exact same software. Although I did get 82% on my written exam, you have to remember that for the same TC exam, each version has a different degree of difficulty. Along with the Cul Heinz I also used the software when it came to writing my PPL & my CPL. I used CARS set of questions from the PPL to study for the CPL and used the weather section from the INRAT to study for the CPL. Good luck on your exam!rapid602 wrote:I recently got my Multi IFR back after a twenty year laspe. I did study and passed my written exam with 88 %, I bought a course on line for about $40.
