Everyone seems interested in acquiring multi-engine time. However,
it's incredibly expensive in Canada to rent a twin by the hour at a
flight school - if it's even available.

Would anyone be interested in a cheaper alternative? I'm having
one of my crafty ideas. It would be aimed at people who already
had their multi-engine endorsement (and probably a MIFR, at least
on paper) and might already have enough single-engine time, but
wanted to gain multi-engine time to meet various requirements to
move to their next career step.

In addition to merely logging multi hours, I can promise you that
you would be sharp at hand-flying multi-engine when you were
done, and it would also involve time in actual IMC and night. This
would definitely be about building real-world skill and experience,
above and beyond just getting the rating. Heck, you could probably
snivel some unusual attitudes in the Pitts, too.

But no, no. This is about getting people who have a bare
multi/multi-IFR rating:

- more multi time in their logbook
- sharper at hand-flying multi-engine
- night experience
- actual IMC experience

As a bridge from simply holding the rating, to meeting CAR 703
1000/100 single pilot mins (and be safe to actually do it), for
example.

I have wondered for years why a group of AvCan 250 hr
wonders didn't buy a little twin, and fly it continuously back
and forth across the country, dropping off new part owner
pilots and picking up others, while everyone was furiously
logging PIC and dual in it.

You could buy your share, get your 100 hrs multi, then sell
your share to the next 250 hr wonder.

No OC required, no AMO. And the time would be completely
legit.

I am intrigued by your post. However, I am just starting my PPL, so not quite there yet, but I am interested in your ideas.

I spend an awful lot of time and money trying to help pilots, and frankly, I wonder why I bother, because apparently they already know it all.

I've spent days and days on a clusterf__k of an import, and in another unrelated case, try to deal with yet another AME who can't read the CARs and can't comprehend an AD.

Ok Mike there is in. How many spots are left the program? Now we know it's a great deal but is there a approximate or better yet fixed cost? Do you have a pdf of the brochure?

I am new to the industry, and am interested in what you are discussing. However there is no mention in any of your posts of what your idea is, and several people seem interested, thats why I was asking. Its not my intent to crap on anyone.

What I gather from reading through the thread of posts is you are involved in flying airplanes to and from airshows and are looking for pilots?

I'm pretty sure this is completly separate from the single occupant VFR airshow transits he does.
