I would stop complaining about ground rigs scooping up ag pilot work. Furthermore, I would start complaining ag pilots scooping up ground rig work .... then take one of my aerial applicators licenses, convert it, and start working the ground rigs. Pick the right niche industry and your experience and qualifications are still useful on the ground.
Though, I would probably also pick up a new trade in the off season. Become an electrician?
