Conversions from FAA ratings

I currently have a Canadian Commercial licence and also FAA after doing the conversion exam a little while ago. If I train for my Multi IFR down stateside is it now just a matter of completing a relatively short written exam before getting these ratings included on my TC licence? The reason that I would like to do it that way is because I have the US Instrument written completed and passed and will save me having to study over for the TC written. Any advice appreciated.
