Electronic log books ie Logten Pro and the interview
I guess this question is directed more for Davep, but all are welcome to weigh in.
If an individual uses Logten pro instead of keeping a paper log book, how does he/she provide a log book for review during an interview? I have not kept a paper log book for quite some time now and this has puzzled me.
Thanks.

Print out a hard copy and get it signed by an appropriate person?

Re: Electronic log books ie Logten Pro and the interview
I regularly print off my electronic log book and get it bound at Staples. I just add the last few pages every time I interview somewhere so it really hasn't cost a fortune. This fixes all of my math errors over 15 years of paper logbooks etc.
I interviewed with Air Canada a while back and fortunately didn't get the job. While they said they like electronic logbooks, they said they were primarily looking for signatures and stamps going right back to initial training. It seemed that this was more important than going through to check your math and look for padding etc. That's just my interpretation though.

I wonder if Westjet wants to see signatures and stamps? beats the whole idea of keeping an electronic logbook if you ask me!

Re: Electronic log books ie Logten Pro and the interview
I had my logbook printed out from logten Pro at the UPS store in toronto on the best paper and bound as well . It looked great . I even had some pictures from times gone by as an instructor , flying the beaver etc in there.
My suggestion is get it printed out at a store on good paper and make it look as professional as you can and it should be no problem .
good luck

Unless something recently changed, no signatures/stamps necessary .I wonder if Westjet wants to see signatures and stamps? beats the whole idea of keeping an electronic logbook if you ask me!

Hey all,
I have a homemade logbook that I made with exel that is a near replica of my first paper logbook.
Aside from the coil binding at staples, can anyone suggest a place where I can hve my logbook printed on hevy stock paper and hardcopy bound?
Thanks in advance,
Neo

Good Evening,
Thanks Username80 for raising this issue regarding electronic log books. Westjet and the Pilot Selection Team understands the realities of data moving to electronic formats and do not wish to discourage it but the log book is an important part of reviewing a candidate. Signatures and certification are important but the log book is the history of your flying career. The interview invitation letter is being modified accordingly to clarify our expectations regarding electronic log books.
A candidate is required to bring all log books to an interview with a photo copy of the last page for us to stamp and certify for our records. This includes a hard copy of the last page of an electronic log book. If a candidate possesses an electronic log book, they are required to provide a method for us to review it in it's entirety. This can be either a hard copy or an electronic format such as a laptop or tablet. It is not our position to dictate which method you choose but we do appreciate it being presented in a format that facilitates efficient review.
Thanks again to all for the questions as we continue to strive to improve the experience. Cheers!
