Don't ridicule him, it was a medical incapacitation related problem.

The pilot was suffering from "Hub Disease."

Poor airspeed control on final. What else is new?

As I have said many, many times before - there are
no new causes of aircraft accidents. Each one is simply
a repeat of a previous accident that the pilot thought
wasn't interesting enough to learn from.

Morning Colonel. I don't think he was landing. The accompanying article implies they were doing a practice run for the "flour bombing" event at the next days airshow. I suspect the pilot was more focused outside the plane and giving guidance to his bombadier than his airspeed gauge! Does that A/C have a stall warning?

Sure looks like the poor little beast was trying to warn him. Judging by his late application of power, he picked up on it too late.

Yup... Inattention to flying the airplane.

"Mind thy airspeed less the ground rises up to smite thee...."

Good thing they were very low.... It managed to pancake without going over on its back... Would likely of had fatal conscequences if it had.

Glad they walked away....

I agree... Nothing new to learn here... Just don't let it happen to you.

Was that caused by vertical or horizontal frontal shear? Better check wunderground........ If only he had received last second wind corrections from the tower.
