I googled a bit but couldn't find anything. How is the pay and working conditions at Sky Regional? I'm assuming they're going to be hiring to crew the Embraers.

Safe to assume worse than Air Canada. What else is there to know?

Embraers

you seem ahead on the scoop! Haha
I know FOs make base plus hourly wage... They can expect around 45k give or take a few bucks, thats on the Q400

And for the 15 or so Embraers going over to Skyregional I think Positions will be mainly filled with current AC embraer rated pilots to start off.

Sky Regional is going to need to crew up for a 15 A/C expansion, from Feb to June 2013. That's about 3 A/C per month.
Then factor in the WJR start up and we're talking about a lot of new tier 2 jobs.

What's the top wage for Captains? I'll assume the worst and figure Embraer will pay the same as the Q.

Not a chance. Unless guys decide to quit Air Canada and go work at SR.

Anybody care to post or at least paraphrase what Sky Regional is saying internally about today's announcement?

If this pay of 70ish fore the embraer IS true, all i have to say is G*d damn fuc**ing dumb a** pilots. Get your head out of the dog sh*t and get some brains in your fu**king head. Are you f*cking stupid morons? Any pilot who accepts that wage needs to be jumped and have your head rearranged with a baseball bat. Cant you see where this is going? You are paving the road for a lifeless career. On behalf of my kids who may want to become pilots I say thank you for ruining their future.

Everyone just calm down. One guy on a anonymous internet forum posted what the Q400 wages are also mentioned EMJ. 32K for an FO and 70K for a captain of a jet. There is just no way, is there?
I mean companies like Perimeter pay their Medevac Captains 92K before per diems, many of their sched DH8 and Metro Pilots are earning in excess of that. Calm Air pays more than that. The list can go on. 70K is a decent year 1 wage for a Turbo Prop. I really hope this guy is joking. There can be no way...

Lol, i hear. Getting old sucks. Sorry, but i am just tired of hearing all the negative things happeneing in this industry and i clearly see the painting on the wall what is happening and as a collective group we COULD do something about but unfortunately pilots are very ME ME ME. I feel i have made my career path but I feel badly for my kids future if they decide to go down the aviation path. What i see going on boils my blood. Hopefully everyone does what they can to better this industry. Saying NO today might benefit you in a YES manner tomorrow. I wish pilots would quit being so shortsighted. Every other profession must just piss themselves laughing at us. Once upon a time we were classed up in the doctors and lawyers. Now we get laughed at.

+1 Legacy!
man am I tired of that aviation bullsh%?t ! This is really discouraging. People! Join the
http://www.collegeofpilots.ca/ I mean this has to stop. The public has to know also what they are getting into! The US is starting slowly to understand that not paying crew is not safe. Here in Canada we are starting to do what they did 10 years ago. Wake up!

Flytarp...........shush! ............please. I for one joined the college of pro pilots. Its a start and it has to begin somewhere. Maybe this will be it. I know Tom so thats one reason why I joined. If you want to be one of these sky regional pilots that accept 70K a year ( again, IF that is what it is), hopefully you get whats coming to ya. Have fun!
