Flight Sims

Looking for a good flight sim. 1900 prefer, or king air. Heard ASA has an okay one or x-plane. Need it for IFR refresh and layout famil.
Any ideas great.

I have a 1900 POH, I borrowed it from a past roommate who was workin the ground for a 1900 operator, that was many many years ago, I think he's still there

MFC has a B200 Level 5 FTD. It is pretty good and has visuals. It is used quite a bit by operators for initial and recurent training.

Have heard of a King Air FTD at CPAF.
Don't quite know what level FTD they have though, but they do back up the training with a number of packages ...one of em being the Turbine Transition Program.
Anyone have any ideas on how good CPAF Abbotsford,BC is?

Level 5 is the most advanced, something like a ATC-810 is considered a level 2. Level 5 used to be the highest before you got into the motion sims A, B, C and D, however as far as I know there are now some level 6 FTD's out there.

MFC's level 5 B200 is farily realistic, the visuals consist of a wrap around screen and the only thing that can not be simulated to an accurate degree is an electrical fire. The operator basically has to state that there is an electrial fire or the is smoke in the cockpit.

So a level 5 sim is not a motion sim? How do the motion sims (categorized as A, B, C or D) fit into the levels…?

Level 1-5 does not fit into the Level A-D. Once you get to level A you are usually dealing with some level of motion.

Level 1 through 5 are known as FTD's (flight training devices) and when you hit level A through D, you are dealing with full flight simluators.

Gotcha.
What ur saying is that Level 1-5 is a simpler /amateur version of a sim...without any motion.
Levels A thru D, are on the other hand motion sims each version being more advanced with greater motion 'features' than the previous.
...that right eh?
