Flair Air Hiring
So whats the situation on Flair? I've never seen them even operating out of YYC and now they are hiring more F/O's? Just keeping the numbers up or do they have something? What's the pay like for a YYC F/O? Moral at the company? Info would be greatly appreciated!
Cheers

Agreed... I see the plane parked in YYC for quite a long stretch of times. Although today they were up in Fort Nelson so that was nice to see.KenoraPilot wrote:So whats the situation on Flair? If you are out around Apron 5 in YYC you will see them somewhat regularly. Of course, you'll also see Canadian North, Enerjet, and of course Cariboo. But they are doing some flying! (sorry, not sure on working conditions).
Switchfoot.

FO start at $ 55,000 / year + perdiems. It is adhoc charter company, it has been slow from last 6 months but flying has increased recently, they need more crews in YYC.

Lol 55K not too bad considering that at AC 55K takes several years to achieve.... Are they chartering for NCA, cuz it seems that NCA is expanding alot and in need of more seats to move their clients?FL8 wrote:FO start at $ 55,000 / year + perdiems. Ha Ha what a joke.
The wise ones will be those who keep well away from this.
Be warned.

Re: Flair Air Hiring
Maybe this is why I don't trust a lot of information on here. Somebody usually comes on and either says they're great or they're horrible. Now that's fine and we're all open to our opinions, but I'd really like for someone to explain why. Tell me they're horrible/great, I can handle that, just break it down for me so I can make my own informed decision...
Re: Flair Air Hiring
Flair have a lot of ex-employees out there, and I would imagine that some of them are on this forum. I am pretty sure that if you were to take the time to talk to one of the ex-employees, you will hear a similar theme…
-management are a joke. They are unskilled in their respective positions and lack basic management skills.
-they are bottom feeders with no flying program of their own and lack the proper personnel to find work.
-they are a boys club and if your face don't fit the club…then out the door you go. (One of the reasons for there being so many ex-employees)
-management is a joke
-the management style is draconian
-the training is just embarrassing
-management is a joke
So, if you really want to fly a shiny (but unique) 737 go ahead and apply and good luck to you….really. In a year or so you will be one of the people posting on this forum warning others to just not bother going there.

Boeing 737-400 Upgraded to Glass, well maintained
FO start at $55,000 Captains at $85000, $60/day perdiem, pension plan after 1 year
Schedule 10 - 15 days a month, overtime after 15 days,
Who cares if they don't have flying programme of their own, it is charter company. "They can't find work", but we go all over the world, what do you think JR does that to keep the moral high.
Flair's no is 250 491 5513, why dont you drop by or call office or talk to one of the pilot. I have been here for over year, everyone seems to be very happy.

I bet the F/Os are happy with $55K a year compared to their comrades at Big Red. More money sooner is always better.

Same as Canjet and Sunwing captain pay. More than Sky Regional Embraer pay by quite a bit. Sad but true.FL020 wrote:Captains are happy with 85k a year??? You're kidding me right?...

Re: Flair Air Hiring
What's the story on the Halifax base? Long-term contract(s)? Is it a forced move to kelowna if/when it ends? Is $85k for yr 1 captain accurate?
Re: Flair Air Hiring
Canada's Bottom Feeders picked up a short-term Canadian North contract running from the West to the East. Ask yourself this, what happens when the contract is over? No it will not be a forced move to YLW, it will be goodbye and on the street you go. It wouldn't be the first time they have done this. Flair is a boys club, not a place for a career. You have been warned.

What's schedule like? Do you have to live at base location?

Re: Flair Air Hiring
Anyone know what's happening with the Halifax base? Have they hired for that yet?

Re: Flair Air Hiring
Is Flair dry leasing their 737s to Canadian North? Saw a Flair 737-400 depart YYC with an Empress callsign a few days ago.
