I see that the job postings have been up for a while. Has anyone heard back or been interviewed yet for any of the positions?

The job ad states that having a DH8 rating will have preference. Well I've been applying since spring and there's been no call!

Maybe you should sweeten the pot a little and offer to pay for your training?

Hey Mig, did you forget about the transfer of 15 E175s to SR, starting in February, I would say 40 captains is the start of what's needed for those.

Its actually 6 retired guys doing training and only new SR hires will be flying the 175....no transfer from the Q. But dont hold your breath for SR to receive TC certification anytime soon!

Most of the hiring has been completed. First course is starting now (in the UK I'm told), and another in Jan.
There's no shortage of applicants, and apparently an 'average' one has about 3,000 hours.
First flight is Feb 28th.

Really curious Snowcone about something..and how would it be that you know for a fact not to expect the TC certification soon? Absolutely false.
Chris, to just say the pay is embarrassing is not enough..what is it? And how do you know?

Aircraft Types
Sky Regional Airlines pay scales are independent of aircraft type.
Each flight crew position has a fixed pay scale. Pay shall be comprised of Base Pay and Flight Credit Pay.
Pay Rates
Yearly Base Pay
CAPTAIN: $52,000
FIRST OFFICER: $31,200
Flight Credit Pay
In addition to monthly base salaries, Pilots shall be paid flight credits at the following rates:
CAPTAIN: $23/hr.
FIRST OFFICER: $14/hr.
Pay Progression
Statistics Canada publishes a Consumer Price Index (CPI). The annual change in effect at the beginning of each calendar year shall be used as the basis for Pay Increments.
A Pilot’s pay shall increase on the anniversary date in accordance with the annual CPI increase in effect on
January 1 of that year.
Minimum Guarantee
In addition to annual base salary, a Pilot who is available for the whole year shall be paid for a minimum of
680 Flight Credits per year. Any shortfall shall be made up by the Company at yearend. A Pilot who leaves the Company during the course of the year shall not be entitled to any shortfall.

Wow, thats brutal!!!
$67,640 for Captains at 56.6 hours a month
and
$40,720 for f/o's,
With no real pay increases just keeping up with inflation, If those numbers are correct that is a new low.
Wake up people, this is nuts!!!!
