personal choice. I love the king airs, but there is something about the capability of the twotter. Id have to go with the twin otter

Depends what you want to do later.

I'd personally pick the KingAir. More jobs out there that I'd prefer with KingAir time.

Twotters great, but unless you want to fly one for a living, the kingair should be better for future prospects.

Just my opinion.

Depends.

If you're talking about where I work, I'd say go double otter. The Beech side is way more affected by seasonal fluctuations in schedule. The Mighty Otter Drivers build time way way faster and get to go way more locations. If you are married and want to have a more predictable routine, and especially if you like sitting on the couch (medevace) go to work as a Beech SUPERHERO. Remember at 150 KTAS you build more time but you work harder.

As long as your not paying for the PPC it does not matter your choice. Both are great.

Either or. But if its for a Borek gig, doesn't the choice become more like do you prefer working in +40C or -40C? :D

Both do both at Borek (although the King Air's get a bit fussy at -40 and SP had all the AC pulled so +40 isn't so nice either).

My vote is King Air but only if you've got some time already for the reasons previously mentioned in other posts. Also, I don't know no better.

On a busy otter year, I fly 1199.6 or so. On a slow otter year, I fly 1000 hours or so. I last had a slow year in 1990.

On a beech a busy year is 600 hours. A slow year is, well... slow.

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the twotter over 12.5? Should that make the decision any easier?

Just Curious,

You've flown 15,000+ hours since 1990?????

That must be a record.

Other than companies like Borek, who use the two Otter because they need to use it's unique capabilities, and float ops in places like the 'dives, the Twin Otter's time has come and gone. Dont get me wrong here, there are still some great opportunities to be had driving the mighty two headed float rodent, but there are way more jobs out there on King Airs. So, if landing a job on a turbine is your goal, then the King Air is a better bet. But if you really want to flaunt tradition....then an Otter driver ye must be!

...and I love being a beech fag!!!!!
I have only flown the twatter once, and it was an off strip trip - wow, what an eye opener.

But for a lifestyle move, or for more job oppertunitys, go for the King Air.

Cheers.

Well, to give him credit, KAG is close with that lifestyle thing. But to put a fine point on it... Beech guys have a life, Otter drivers have style.

Actually KAG,

I know we're talking semantics, but at altitude it's pretty regular to get the old twin rodent past 150 KTAS.

On a good day, I've seen mind numbing true air speeds as high as 155.

Hands down, it's a real rocket ship.

Oooh oooh.

I had 202 kts groundspeed in level flight coming back from Santiago one day. Never saw anything close to that ever again.
