Per Diems
Greetings;
I was wondering if I could pick the brain of some firefighting folks here as to what they receive for per diems (I say fire fighters since I'm looking to compare apples to apples). If anyone from Conair or the likes would help me out that'd be great. pm me if you wish.
Cheers,

Re: Per Diems
Every province is slightly different, the rates for Food are around 40-45$, usually $15 per meal if not supplied by the government agency. If your in a camp you get nothing... Hotels are paid without receipts up to around 90-100$ more in some locations. Nothing if your in a camp. Transport is around $100 per day for a rental car. This is what your company gets paid, unless you cook up a better deal, most companies will pay you these rates.
As far as i can tell, fixed wing pilots get there food catered, and its flown in by jet charter from New york or LA. The caviar and sashimi are on separate flights direct from the source to insure freshness..... And served to them by virgins.

Re: Per Diems
We use the federal government rates, then Revenue Canada can't object or question.
