Jason Newburg is the only pilot who, having been written up by TC for various "reckless flying" type offences, appealed to the TATC and then completely failed to attend his own appeal hearing. The tribunal was so unimpressed it considerably increased the penalties against him.

On the contrary - He's friends of friends, and although I've never met him, I'm quite sure he's a thoroughly nice guy. I'm not exactly sure what the episode with the TATC tells you about him but I'm sure it tells you something.
