Air Transat Refurbished A330's

Post by Sunwing738 »

I know Transat has already begun to refurbish their cabins on their A330's. As of Jan 1st /13 I know that A330-200's, C-GTSI, C-GTSJ, and C-GTSN have been done and A330-300, C-GTSO has be refurbished as well. Are there any more that have been refurbished since then? I'm assuming none of the A310's will be refurbed because TS plans to phase them out of the fleet soon.

Also on a side note*
I'm flying TS746 from YYZ-CUN on Feb 21st and TS747 from CUN-YYZ on Feb 28th. Flight aware shows that the last 2 TS746 flights have be operated by the A333 and the 3 flights before were operated by the A332.

Just wondering if anyone has any info as to the registration of the aircraft that will operate TS746 & TS747. I'm hoping they will be one of the refurbed aircraft!

Thanks!

Thanks! I'm guessing neither of them have been refurbished yet?

I flew TSD yesterday and she still has the older interior, PTS has not gone through refurb yet either.

That being said the aircraft assigned to your flight could be changed so you may end up surprised and get a flight in one of the new cabins. Either way you will have a nice ride. Enjoy your trip.

Thank you! Looking forward to it. Never flown Transat before so it'll be interesting to see where they stack up against Sunwing.

The 310 interior refurbishment is to begin "very shortly".

Hopefully they will stack up better. TS keeps talking about wanting to be a cut above the rest; hopefully the inflight staff will step up to the plate for you. If anything is not to your satisfaction, make sure to write a letter. These days, there is absolutely no excuse for sub-par service aboard any Air Transat flight, and I'm quite confident that management will pay attention.

You will enjoy the service I am sure. Have always found the crews very accommodating and friendly. We may fly for different colors, but we are in this industry together. :D

I've flown Sunwing a couple times in the past and found their service excellent! Crews were very friendly and no delays other then a 30 min weather delay for snow. Also one year our return flight from PUJ was moved up a day, when we booked it was 8 days but we were only there for 7. We contacted Sunwing with our booking itinerary that said it was 8 days and they gave each of us (4) a $250 credit towards another WG vacation or flight. I essentially got a free return flight to YYT that summer.

Last year I made the mistake of flying with Air Canada to PUJ and our flight was delayed 9 hours! We were supposed to arrive at 3:40PM but didn't land until around 12:30AM losing a full day, all we got for an apology was a $20 meal voucher at the airport. Ill never make that mistake again.

I've heard good things from TS but I'm honestly not a picky flyer, as long as I get there in one piece and relatively on-time.

Porter's service is really good as well. Flew with them to BOS this summer and it was a great experience.

Never flown Canjet or Westjet yet and by the sounds of it, I don't think Ill be able to fly Canjet next year :(

Anyways, there's my long winded take on my experience with airlines in Canada. Thanks for all the info on TS, I'm really looking forward to escape the cold for a week!

I am sure you will enjoy the service, if you want a really nice ride, see about purchasing the upgrade to Club Transat.

More than likely you will even change your handle to "Transat738" after your flight with us!!!!

Enjoy your vacation

Thanks, but I don't have the money to upgrade to club class, I'm already paying enough for my vacation as it is.

Maybe I'll change it to Transat333 when I get back next week! We'll see. I'll post about my flights when I return. One thing I'm impressed with is the flight's on-time performance. It's arrived no more then 30 mins late in the last 7-8 weeks! That's impressive for a charter airline.

Our on time performance is even better then the "sked" carriers!!

Just for your info the days of "charter" airlines, such as Nationair and Worldways, is long gone.

Air Transat is just another airline, the difference between us and certain other Canadian airlines is the main focus of our business is the vacation traveler, we are not trying to be everything to everyone. Maybe that helps contribute to our good on time performance.

M.Jackson

Especially you Topper :)

I believe 4 of the 310's are going to get a facelift, it won't be anywhere near as sexy as the 330 interior but it will be better than what they are now!

Enjoy your trip, hope you get to check out the new interior!

Cheers
