PIC time

Hello All,

I got my lic in the states and did a conversion in Canada. Just wondering if I was to go back to the states for some time building, would that be considered as PIC time back here in Canada as well towards the ATPL. It is considerably cheaper to build time down south.

Thanks

TC likes you to log your flight time in the USA,
on your FAA pilot certificate, in a different logbook,
but I never bothered.

The reason why is that the FAA has a very different
definition of PIC than TC.

In Canada, this is ONE PIC. It has nothing to do with
wiggling the flight controls, and everything to do with
responsibility for the flight.

In the USA, there can be many pilots logging PIC at
the same time, for the same flight. If there is a crash,
after the fact the FAA may assign responsibility to a
pilot whom was not even logging or acting as PIC,
and did not have access to any flight controls for
any portion of the flight.

This is a little bit weird for a whitebread Canuck.
