Pilatus PC-24 Twinjet Unveiled at EBACE
Interesting to see Pilatus' take on the twin jet market.

Pretty interesting, quite different from most of the other light to medium jets out there.

While waiting for the page to load, I was imagining something with two small jet engines mounted each side of the fuselage, a T-tail, and one heck of a big RAT mounted on the nose.

Hmm twin jets, short unpaved runways operation. Perfect for medic-vac or drug lords to inspect their fields in the jungle.

My office is right next door to EBACE. But I can't go this year.
The weather forecast for the week is rain and 13c daily highs.
I go every year and have to say that the only static display that gets my attention is the PC-6 and PC-12. Lots of big corporate machines on the ramp: BBJ's, 319CJ, Dassault's, etc. Pilatus is an interesting company that has succeeded in bringing unique airplanes to market that seemingly go unchallenged.
We now pause for some Swiss culture. Please pass the cheese.

They claim low pressure tires- I wonder if they will hydroplane on wet runways or if the Vref is slow enough to compensate?
I wonder why, if turbines are so efficient and reliable as they've been claiming for all these years, they didn't go with one engine?

It's nice to see that they considered the world outside of America. They should have a nice corner of the market by planning for gravel/short fields from the start.
I'll be very interested to see these when they hit the market.

Funny how they decided to strap 2 engines to that one!

@iflyforpie- yup
@xsbank- probably because in addition to Eleveniron's comments, penetration of the PC12 in some markets has been largely non-existent due to a prevaling attitude that "props are for boats".
It will, though, be interesting to see whether the PC-24 will be much of a game changer in those regions (like the Middle East) in a pretty saturated light jet market.
Oh well, lets watch it fly first.

No. I assume they plan to make more than 4 and NOT go bankrupt before the first sale.xchox wrote:GROB SPn Rip-Off?

What would you call a rip off? Hiring all the personnel, building a carbon copy...all for free?

The only thing original looking is that cargo bay door. Great for medevacs, fuel drums, fat pax maybe.
