Rouge Uniforms....
Well Air Canada has broken the mold on this one a little bit. Seem to be targeted at youthful employees.

Re: Rouge Uniforms....
I wonder if on top of having to pay for their own training, if there will be a "uniform bond".
Re: Rouge Uniforms....
The top of the uniforms is pleasant, but maroon and gray do not mix well. Here is hoping they will think of something better-matching.

I am not a fan of fedoras, unless they are being worn by FBI or crime-squad guys in 1970's-era movies.
Anybody know whether these guys will be singing during the flight?

I didn't realize that being a hipster is a prerequisite for Rouge flight attendants. Better set up a recruitment table on UVic and UBC campuses.

Re: Rouge Uniforms....
Here's a pretty good article from The Star about rouge. Normally the press is out to lunch on most things regarding aviation but I think they got it pretty bang on this time.

Damn. After rouge workers learn to stretch customer service so high, so rare and perfect that the air is actually thinner up there, they will repay Air Canada $49 a month for the next three years to cover their training. If they leave the job, they’ll still owe that money.
Re: Rouge Uniforms....
That's not a uniform, it's a costume.
There is a difference between an actual uniform in a classical retro style harkening back to the "golden age" of flight a la Porter, and what you would see a hipster in downtown Toronto wearing, while riding their 10 speed after a couple of PBR's.

Say what you will, but I like the pilot uniforms. I think the new look will really set the pilots apart from the guys and girls at mainline.
Maybe it can be viewed as a cost saving measure so that when Rouge does the inevitable belly flop, the pilots won't have to get another uniform when they are folded back into the mainline seniority list.

Re: Rouge Uniforms....
I thought the rule was only one fedora per crew, ska bands excepted.

Re: Rouge Uniforms....
Whoever came up with the uniforms should be shot. Summary execution is the only just reward for that travesty. Ugly as sin. Makes the crew look like they should be climbing out of a clown car not a crew bus...
My last job was like that. Loved walking into a FBO wearing my 'I like to get drunk and hump things' T-shirt. The reactions were priceless albeit expected.like me at my job, when we get out of the plane there's always a person asking ''who's the pilot''????

Well in that case, if it's being used to identify oneself as Canadian it's damn appropriate!raven54 wrote:Umm, you better be serious!!
