VFR Procedures in Foreflight

Post by Ottude »

I'm located in BC and have been browsing the Vancouver area VTA/VNC charts and the CFS in Foreflight. Great additions. However, I've encountered a couple of issues:
1. I can't find the reverse of the Vancouver VTA Chart (showing VFR approaches and transit routes)
2. The CFS is missing the VFR approaches that precede the aerodrome details (e.g. take a look at the CFS for CZBB).
Does anyone know if there is a different place in Foreflight to go for these, or if they are included at all?
Thanks,
Rob

The whole CFS is available in the documents tab.

Go to Catalogue, NAV CANADA tab and select CFS. This is also where the CAP GAN lives.

They don't seem to have the backside of the VTA charts at this point.

Thats a major error. Hopefully they fix that soon. The back of the VTA is required reading for flying in the lower mainland.

Thanks, I didn't see there was a whole CFS included.
However, if you are in "Maps" and you select an aerodrome (e.g. CZBB) and select the CFS, it is missing the three pages of vfr terminal procedure charts in front of the general aerodrome information. This is the same for CNC3 (Brampton), and probably for all such CFS entries in Foreflight.
This renders the CFS entry under the aerodrome information incomplete and therefore quite a problem for anyone using it as a source.

Have you brought this up with Foreflight? Looks like an oversight in programming to me - and being a US based company they may not realise the use of these extra pages. They seem pretty open to suggestions and certainly implement improvements constantly - I'm impressed how the product has improved over the year I have been a subscriber.

I find the switching between different VNC/VTA cgharts that cover the same area to be quite confused. You can actually make Tyendinaga and Kingston airports disappear completely if you tap in the right area of the chart.

I emailed and spoke with Josh at Foreflight (good guy) and directed him to this forum discussion topic. He understands the issues posted above and has created a Support item at Foreflight to deal with them.
