If the expression Jesus H Christ did not exist it would have to be created to cover this action.

Boeing should have added a “low airspeed” voice warning for pilots to the 777 following a similar crash of a Boeing 737 in Amsterdam four years ago.
Isn't that voice supposed to emanate from the other pilot warming a front seat - right before stick shaker time?

And that my fiends is why a single pilot airliner is a real threat to the industry, average folk feel that a computer can/will/does do it all.

Boeing has the deepest pockets of any of the players. Why is this news a surprise to anyone?

Didn't it only kill *two* teenagers? I thought the third one was killed by a fire truck speeding to the scene of the crash... Better sue the fire truck manufacturer as well for not including collision avoidance systems or providing adequate driver training.

I am actually in agreement with the aggrieved parties. Boeing should have included a contraption that was able to start engines, taxi, take off, navigate and land, taxi, shut down, open the doors, serve coffee and snacks, and play a pre-recorded safety briefing. And a lock stout enough to keep "pilots" out of the cockpit. And the galley.

Yes, an aural warning. To complement the numerous visual clues that were undoubtedly indicating that the alleged pilots were failing miserably at the most basic and yet most critical part of their duties. l for one feel however, that even more of the human senses should be brought into play to avert such a severe crisis of ineptitude. l humbly submit that all ventilation systems be automated and programmed to emit the scent of feces whereupon an aircraft reaches Vref minus 30 (!!!) to alert the crew that they have unwittingly allowed things to go so sideways, that they should be shiteing their uniform pants.

The people responsible for this lawsuit should be ashamed of themselves for their flagrant attempt to profit off of this tragedy of incompetence.

That way is simpler. It's probably Asiana's insurance company, trying to minimize the effect what will likely be a massive judgement against their client.

Actually, those families should be thanking Boeing for saving the lives of their loved ones based on the survival of an aircraft that went through what it went through.

Yeah, but think of all the money they saved in pilot training.

Here's an animated version of the last 30 seconds of the accident. Apologize if this has been posted before, I got it a week ago via email. The ghosted blue image is where he should have been.

Weren't all the new-fangled airplanes supposed to be crewed by one "pilot" and a dog?

The "pilot's" job is to feed the dog and the dog's job is to bite the pilot if he touches the effin controls?

The ghosted image is above (which is correct) ... but also should be ahead if it was to have been faster.

There is no doubt whatsoever in my mind that this is actually the case. If the occasional lawsuit, hull loss, and temporary loss of business due to reputation damage turns out to cost less than upgrading training standards, then training standards will stay the same unless change is legislated.
