I'd like some informations on (ideally free) flight planning software you might have found and tried.

just downloading it from the emule or other p2p, try them and then if you wish, buy it!
The elite, last time I use it, was amazing. and like most things from jeppesen EXPENSIVE

I have the Jepp program...it's awesome. Pricey, though. i am lucky enough to have been given a copy by my co.

If you have access to AOPA or DUATs they're both great, but of course have limited (but not bad) functionality for Canadian routes.

And you get what you pay for ... that software is incredible.
