Qualifications:
The successful candidate must have:
Progressive aviation work history which includes a total of 3000 hours flying time, minimum 600 hours multi-engine PIC, minimum of 500 hours of the aforementioned flight hours must have been accumulated in geographically remote Canadian locations.
Flight experience within the last several years of which seventy-five percent must have been obtained in either/or a combination of 604, 704, 703 and 702 flight operations.
Thorough knowledge and understanding of Canadian Aviation Regulations.
Strong working knowledge of weather systems.
Strong working knowledge of aircraft systems, abnormal emergency procedures and limitations.
Demonstrated strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
Excellent team player.
Good leadership skills.
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions under pressure.

Conditions of Employment:
Valid Airline Transport Pilot's license.
Restricted Radio license.
Canadian Passport.
Ability to obtain a Restricted Area Security Pass.
Class 5 Driver’s licence.
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

Duties:
The successful candidate will be required to act as Pilot-In-Command and/or First Officer on Manitoba’s aircraft engaged in General Transport, Fire Suppression and Air Ambulance duties as assigned by the Operations Manager and/or Chief Pilot.

Do they still run Citations/Navjo's/Single Otter's ? And I assume of course the ducks too ?

If so I assume one would have to be checked out on 4 types ?

Anyone know if the gig is based out of WG ?

We run 3 Citations, 1 'Ho, 2 Single otters, 2 Twotters, 3 C310s (Birddog) and 6 Ducks (4x415, 2x215).
Dunno if it's Wg based or not, as staffing is in a bit of flux due to promotions - best to call the Chief, and ask..

Twin Otter co-captains for the add. Overtime is straight pay and there is opportunity for anyone wanting Some extra cash. 1 extra shift is 14hrs, time can rack up pretty quick if u want. Also, some with float time can fly the otters occasionally when the full timers max out on hours. Can be a long process or quick, pretty much luck of the draw. Good old government pension plan helps too.

Bubby .... what is a "Co-Captain?" for the deHaviland job?

The only regulatory reference for that term is when an F/O who is in need of PIC time for an ATPL ..... is on a PIC Under Supervision Program and is acting like he or she is the designated Captain although not meeting the minimum requirements to do so.

It means they fly the thing with 2 Captains and no Copilot.

dhc#, can't remember the schedule offhand, as it's not really my department, but the twotter is used for a 'sked-evac' in the south. The idea is that if several patients have to come from various communities in the south: Brandon, Swan, and Dauphin, say, for diagnostic tests in YWG; it is more cost-effective and safer to run a plane once around the patch in the morning, pick all of those people up, take them into the city, and then drop them off again in the evening, than if they all come into the city in individual ambulances, which then wait around all day. The plane is in support of that.

There's probably the odd court party trip and other charters in there, too.

Is Government Air a 703 Operator? Just wondering, Charters and Court Party.

600 operation because it's not for profit. Not really charter. The aircraft flies for any other gov department and is only "billed" for costs. Really just a paper exercise because the $$ is all coming out of the same pot at the end of the day. Not chartered to anyone other than gov.
