Amazing work by the salvage team in repairing "Lidia" in situ on the Holtanna Glacier, Antarctica to fly her back home to Calgary (Jan 2014).

C-GEAI sustained substantial damage during takeoff on December 20, 2012 during a tour operation. A salvage team returned one year later and spent nearly two months in the field repairing the aircraft so she could be flown home.

Congrats to all those involved in this successful salvage! This story would make for an excellent documentary.

Amazing job. I'm surprised someone didn't write it off as too expencive and complex and just buy a "new" one.

Congrats to all involved.

Quite the salvage in remote and extreme conditions for both of these machines!

Not the first time for this airframe either. The aircraft was badly damaged in a windstorm and written off at Patriot Hills around 10 years ago and repaired the following season.

Good work ladies and gentlemen!!!! Enjoy your hot showers and warm beds, you deserve them!!
