Masters of Disaster
Is the crash in Moose Jaw involved with the Masters of disaster aerobatic team. Any word on who died?

For anyone who's interested, the team updated their website to reflect the tragedy.

no sig because apparently quoting people in context is offensive to them.

The next sad occurence will be an all out ban on airshows. Thats the last thing these two men who died would have wanted. All they are talking about on the radio here is that airshows are too dangerous. Hopefully the feds don't listen to these people. There's always talk like that after something like this happens. It just scares me to think that one of these times it might stick.Unable Due Traffic wrote:Jim Franklin and Bobby Younkin. Very sad occurence.
We all take risks every day that we get up and go outside. These two pilots knew exactly what the risks we're when they left the ground, however due to their love of the sport they did it anyway. They died doing what they loved most. Better than in a hospital with tubes coming out of you.
Just a thought.

I saw a few of the news video clips that are posted on different sites- the amount of assumptions and misinformation the media feeds out to viewers is stupid. The thing that has real potential to harm the airshow industry is the amount of information that the general public (also TV icons) dosen't know...Dust Devil wrote: The next sad occurence will be an all out ban on airshows. I know the media are trying to generate audiances with talk on an all out ban on airshow, but the thruth is it wont happen. Airshows are too popular. The regulations currently in place by the feds (TC and FAA) are there to protect the paying public for potential injuries. Not to protect the airshow performers. The regs work! Proof, no spectator was injured by the events in MooseJaw. I have many friends whom were/are airshow performers, one of which was involved in this specific ocurence, all know the risks of their chosen profession, all accept them. Events like this are always sad for the aviation comunity.
Two great airshow performers were lost, they will be greatly missed...
