question for survey guys?

Post by jimmyjazz »

Hey I've got a new job starting soon and was wondering what are the parameters on track and altitude usually on this type of flying? For the last few years I've been straight vfr go where I want when I want now I'm going to acctually pay attetion. Spent the last few weeks being more accurate but what ranges are acceptable for track 5" 5' 5miles? just trying to figure it out before I start.
Thanks

Depends on the perameters of the equipment you are using. Generally on some passes we MUST be within 5 meters.

in geophys, it tends to be 25 to 50 metres max deviation before you have to refly the section. but really, it is very specific to the contract for that job. there are other parameters in addition to x-track error. depends on client preferences, what you are looking for, and equipment used.

topo mapping, 40 to 60 metres is usually the limit, again, depending on altitudes, and equipment used.

What kind of survey are you doing that requires that?
