Student Pilot Question - Hamilton Halton Area
If I am a student pilot looking to get more hours.. Is there anywhere I can post to link up with more experience pilots who maybe looking for someone to co-pilot with and share expenses.

Generally not how it works. If your working toward your PPL, expect to be paying full rental of the plane and paying the instructor.

I'd give him the benefit of the doubt and say he was looking to gain experience, not time. There's immense value to getting a wider breadth of experience beyond just the one instructor whom you fly with.
