Nav Canada Courses and Test

Hello everyone!

Recently Ive passed my online testing and I am just waiting for the next steps. After doing research on the Nav Canada website I've become curious as to what training is like?
I know that we will get a computer based training course prior to starting but how much of a contrast will that be with the actual in person course... i.e. are we taught the exact same material but in greater detail or will it all be new material?\

Thanks! 8)

While the pre-study material is intensive it does not even begin to scratch the surface of what the actual in-person course teaches you. It is more just to give you some of the background information regarding aircraft aerodynamics and weather etc.. . There is very little actual ATC content in the pre-study course.

I recently wrote the test, and there is not much you can study for besides the w-sim package they give you.

Only other thing you can practice is basic arithmetic, doing it in your head, fast!

Also, which FIR did you apply? Test for Vancouver was last week and they come here twice a year... So you might not hear anything for a while. I did my online application in early Jan and write the test last week...
