Re: Canadian Federation of Air Line Pilot Associations (CFAL
Did we get any notice from the college ?
Re: Canadian Federation of Air Line Pilot Associations (CFAL
Just want to share some positive news about our respective pilot groups working together. ACPA, all CDN ALPA carriers, Sunwing, and a few more. Here is an excerpt from an email from ALPA. Not sure if I'm breaching anything here, if so pls advise and I will remove.

Ladies and Gentlemen,
Last fall, the JAZ MEC heard from many of you when you voiced your concerns related to foreign pilots flying in Canada, including Foreign License Validation Certification (FLVC) and the Federal Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP). When we met with the Canada Board last October, these issues were the focus of our discussions.
From these early discussions it was identified that a broad and coordinated response from all concerned Canadian pilot groups would be most appropriate. The Canada Board tasked Captain Dan Adamus, President of the Canada Board, representing Canadian ALPA pilot groups, to work with other Canadian pilot groups to facilitate that dialogue.
Further discussions identified that there was apparent consensus on a number of issues and a document, or protocol, was drafted and signed by representatives of most pilot groups in Canada. The protocol outlines a structure whereby Member Associations (pilot groups) can advocate together where there is consensus.
The various pilot groups, including the Canada Board, have committed to working diligently and in good faith to create a Canadian Federation of Air Line Pilot Associations (CFALPA). The Member Associations have also committed to building a structure on a foundation of mutual respect, cooperation and trust, while recognizing the diversity and autonomy of each group.

I hear there has been progress on this front. Anyone have the inside scoop ?
Re: Canadian Federation of Air Line Pilot Associations (CFAL
Rumor says a line of communication has been opened between the college and the CFALPA. If the dream comes true the COP will deal with licensing and standards and the CFALPA will set pay. This is a similar to other professions. Teachers for example have both representative bodies allowing moves between schools without having to start at bottom pay just because they want a change in schools, grades, etc.

CFALPA, do they have a website?
Re: Canadian Federation of Air Line Pilot Associations (CFAL
It appears that all major pilot groups in this country are in support and will dedicate resources to making it an effective body. As it is in it's very early phase of development, a website is likely a little ways down the road yet, but would likely be an early priority. If only for informational purposes early on.

A dream come true if this ever comes to fruition.Black Cat wrote:Rumor says a line of communication has been opened between the college and the CFALPA.
