YYC Tower Question...

Post by P-40 »

Simple one. Is it possible to get a tower "tour" ? Would love to get a peak inside to see how a busy tower operates.

You can arrange a tour, I've gone up a couple times, but to be honest I'm not sure the number you would call as I've only arranged it through connections with controllers up there. I've heard that given the high demand, given the tower is still relatively new, they only do tours at certain times. I'll see if I can find out who you could call for one :)

I don't even know if there are YYC tower controllers here to begin with and if there are it is possible it takes more than a week to reply. Activity on this forum is fairly sporadic. That being said if you had searched you would of most likely found that by call the FIR shift manager you can usually set up a visit at pretty much any Nav can location. Good luck have fun.

NJ is a YYC twr controller. He'd edited his post only cause he'd included a number and decided to take it out. With any modicum of effort, you can find a NavCan number to call and arrange something, they aren't going to tell you to pound sand like controllers were told when requesting cockpit visits.

First I've heard of this. Who told them to pound sand?
