At Sunwing we want to fly higher when it comes to employment equity.

In other words, we want to higher only foreign pilots so we will bring in everyone else but a Canadian.

Who likes airlines that:

- Cut market prices and piss off everyone
- Hire hundred of foreign pilots instead of Canadians
- Hire pilots for six monthes instead of one year



But yeh! You will have that 737 FO type rating, you will finally be allowed you to fly as an FO in Asia with a Chinese captain and have no life at all! Wouuhouu!

They're all jealous. They wish they worked for one of the fastest growing most profitable companies in Canada. I love the comments from Timel, "cut market prices" what a joke. My guess is you work for a company that uses wide bodies on a narrow body route. Just because your management group is inept doesn't make the cost of that ticket the "Market Price". Big Red is the true undercut specialist.

From what I can see SW prices are lower than anyone else, and SW is hiring TFW.
I have no business against SW, I just do not agree with TFW and I am sure loads of pilots for SW are against it.


What is the average total time of hired TFW FOs flying for Sunwing? Heard there were some pretty low time rated 737 pilots.

I do not think many, if any, Canadians are keen on TFW's but it is a new reality to deal with. Labour is a global commodity, and willing to work for a lower wage than Canadians are accustomed to. Companies are competing globally and will source out the lowest cost of labour they can find. Hell, factories are moving from China to Africa as Chinese labour is becoming expensive. I'm not familiar as to how Sunwing operates their staffing, but unfortunately this will not be a Sunwing only issue going forward.

The only reason of existence for the TFW program is to fill up a lack in labour, not to reduce operational costs with all of those captains or fos of 4000 hours, that are used to pay to for the renewal of their ppc in order to keep their jobs.

I say it again, the day we will be lacking of pilots, I'll be the first one putting red carpet at the exit of the plane.
Or the day Sunwing will have an equivalent numbers of Canadian pilots flying in the European market I might as well find it fair. But I don't think it will happen, the list of European pilots lining up to get a job in Europe is big.

I am very interested in getting the pilot codes wages levels, because this is the root of the problem.

Fact is we pilots can hardly compile our market wages and overall conditions. I wonder how ESDC is going to do that.
