Re: Al Jazeera Documentary on B-787
Interesting article.
Not so sure I would be so concerned. If there is an employee drug problem...this will bring it to light. Not minimizing....But does the same problem likely exist on the the B747 line? B777 line? The old B767 line? The B737NG line?
Yes the Dreamliner has had issues.... But up until now... Have not seen a Dreamliner take out a few thousand cords of wood like we saw with the A320 when it first came to service. They (Airbus) have had issues to resolve on their new designs in the past also.
I remember years ago watching a 5th Estate investigative report against Cessna. Former factory worker (disgruntled test pilot) had a real concern on the Cessna C177 Cardinal. Deemed it unsafe to fly. Maybe a poor comparison.... But i guess time will prove if these concerns are valid enough to boycott flying in the airplane.
Interesting article though...

There are a few documentaries on the 737NG and quality. I think one is titled on a wing and a prayer. It was a good watch, but I still fly on them.ea306 wrote:Interesting article.

The documentary only comes out in a couple days. Let's see what it says when it comes out. But I think that drug angle somewhat discredits the report. They seem to be mixing two totally different subjects in one report.......
Like doing a documentary on overweight thieves.....

Al J-whatever! Another form of terrorism!! I am surprised they didn't mention the fact that women work for Boeing!

The 48 minute documentary is here.

I think it's pretty superficial. Of course, time will tell........

They did better. They actually interviewed women engineers who work at Boeing.kiteboy wrote:Al J-whatever! Another form of terrorism!! I am surprised they didn't mention the fact that women work for Boeing!

prototype battery being tested with a prototype charger that caught fire and exploded.
And from that its completely unsafe for air travel unless you shoot bullets at them to see if its safe.
stopped watching it after that no sense to listen to the rest

Correction, pilot error took out a few thousand cords of wood. There was nothing wrong with the aircraft.ea306 wrote:

There are many who dispute this and claim that the official investigation put the blame on the pilot to save Airbus. Pprune has hundreds of posts on this very subject.mantogasrsrwy wrote: Correction, pilot error took out a few thousand cords of wood. There was nothing wrong with the aircraft.

Yes, much speculation, but from what I've read, nothing can be pinned on the plane. Low and slow will kill you in a Boeing too.
