Hello AvCan... first post.

Wondering how a position on a medevac flight operation conforms with Transport Canada flight regs as to duty days, time zones, and on call for 20 days on(24/7) and then 10 days off. I had a recent interview with a yyz lear company and was floored with the working conditions. Looking at the logs as well, they exceed the 14 hour duty day on a regular basis including today (sat)...14.8+hrs including flying the back side of the clock. Tks.

Most medevac operators have TC approved duty day extensions in place-usually they are limited to life saving flights and the specifics vary from operator to operator.

You can extend to 17 relatively easy in the medevac world.

20 and 10? there must be a 36 off somewhere in there. Maybe in the switch from days to nights for coverage or something? We were only allowed to go up to 14.. with 3 days off on either end at the min.

If you were just interviewing, than how did you see their logs???

It is quite easy to schedule anything into a rotation to make it legal. As stated 36 consecutive hours off every 7 days will reset you.
