Re: YVR spotters......Summertime daily A350 service

If you can't wait till summer, CX will have an A350 in YVR at the end of March. It should be the first 350 scheduled service into YVR or Canada for that matter.

Re: Commuters in Canada

Define "commuters" - unless you live at the airport we all commute. At what distance from the based airport does one become a "commuter"?

Re: Airline Career Outlook

Why would AC choose someone with 1000 SO experience versus what they can get on Canadian market? I bet they will favour a local market of guys with Dash .. Beech... They might not choose someone with 1000 SO time but they would definitely consider someone with 1000 hrs B777 right seat as my post wa...

Re: Airline Career Outlook

+RA With 250 hours you can potentially score a job at a major airline. For example CX is now taking pilots with little or no experience. Check here. You will be an SO for 3-4 years before sitting right seat. After 1000 hours or so of large jet time you can apply to AC or whomever you want. Your tick...

Not true tbaylx. Cathay Pacific will consider you for an interview with as little as 250hrs and a CPL.

If hired, you will be offered an SO position and will fly either the B777, A340 or -400.

Change the music!!!!

Is it just me or is anyone else sick of the music you are required to listen to for 25 -30 minutes EVERY time you call reservations. (Some of us have to list ourselves the old fashioned way.)

Guests?

I gotta ask. Why does WJ insist on calling their customers guests? If I am paying for a service, be it an airline ticket or car wash, doesn't that make me a customer? Most guests are the recipient of a service or hospitality at the invitation of another. Customers on the other hand are patrons that ...

Re: 777 with gear down

It comes down to semantics; you are clearly leaving the gear down to cool the brakes before retraction. They might be red hot or frozen solid, either way they are being cooled.

Your example could be defined as a procedure for cooling the brakes.

Rockie,

So what you are saying is that you have seen a procedure for brake cooling. You clearly describe one in your MEL example!

Re: Southern Air Cargo to use Prince George

Don't know about YXS having the "third longest runway in Canada". According to the Nav Canada pubs: YYC, YMX, YVR and YOD have longer. Although, 11450 is just about long enough .... Remember the rules; runway behind you, etc etc.

When will the Mexican's retaliate and require visa's for all Canadian's? I'm guessing if that happens the holiday package industry will take a bit of a hit.

Since when did AC have a first class? On the web site they show only economy and executive classes.
