Re: Navajo crash.
Well, if it's on avcanada, it must be true. Having exited the back of a twin otter taxiing on floats once or twice before, I wonder how much force is required to open the front half of the door any meaningful amount in flight. And even if you can, how smart is it to open the front half of any door ...

Re: Navajo crash.
That would have happened in 84-85 between Williams Lake and Quesnel. It was a Ho doing a bag run> I think it was Navair, but I could be wrong. Scuttlebut at the time was the pilot was trying to close the rear door that was open and took a tumble. He was never found, the aircraft was.

Looks like Jack was flying this one quite a bit, I'll dig up some other names and pass them on. Some of the DC3 paperwork was fro Air Nigeria and the UK.

This http://www.tc.gc.ca/eng/acts-regulation ... 96-433.htm is just as broken as TC. Cars Deluxe was the most efficient way to glean information from the Regs. And it was a TC inspector that told me about the program.

Re: Sick and Questionable, F-11 Husky CF-SAQ
Back in the late 60's, I flew a Fairchild F-11 Husky CF-SAQ when it was owned by Parson's Airways LTD. of Flin Flon Man. I heard that the airplane ended up in B.C where it was repowered with an Alvis Leonides engine. Has any oldtimers on the B.C. coast ever heard of or remember this fine old underp...

Re: Beaver / Norseman Questions
The Norseman only has a couple of AD's and isn't acquiring any more with the limited hours they are flying. The Beaver on the other hand has stacks of AD's and every time Transport Canada walks by they give it another one. Mostly generated by salt dogs but everybody has to play. What are you planni...

I find it disheartening that TC is still beating the 406 dead horse. Less than 40 % of crashes result in a ELT activation for either the 121.5 or 406 beacons. A GPS based continuous tracking system is clearly a superior solution to the 30 year old 406 technology and now can be enabled with cheap te...

To save money on ammo, buy bulk lots while on sale, which includes free shipping. This should alleviate any worries about having to use expensive ammunition.switchflicker wrote:With the increase in cost of ammo, there will be no more warning shots.

One used to operate from the dock at Vancouver International when I was there in the early to mid-70's .... might have been on trial for Harrison Airways, but I'm far from sure. Supposedly had good performance, but a bugger to dock in the conditions and places around the coast. Tradewinds operated ...

I refuse to pay that bill when it shows up. Every few years my accountant screws up and I have a tax return and the CRA steal it from me. This year they got $495. There have been lots of threads on this subject.

Re: ATTENTION all 702 703 Operators!
Deadline to respond to NPA has been extended to October 15th. As an operator of 7 703 Beavers, this is going to cost us in extra pilots needed and cost the existing pilots a loss of revenue. There were no representatives from any 703/704 companies fixed wing. Major consultation and rework of NPA is...
