A short cut could be to earn an airplane Private Pilots License. Something like 15 hours of fixed wing flight time can be counted towards the private helicopter license. Millennium Aviation in Saskatoon is a pretty good FTU. I earned my private license there flying a Cessna 150. There is free ground school Thursday nights at their hanger. If you're ever in the area stop by maybe I'll see you there. Happy Flying!
