Re: Air Lab 1900 FO Posting
They could ask 10 000 hours and 5000 hours jet time for this job: it's their right! It's a good gig, 6 months off per year, you'll never see this at AC feeders... Especially for somebody who don't want to live in a metropolis and need to commute! With a regional you end up 2-3 days home per month f...

Re: Training Bond Terminology
With the way the industry is moving atm someone would be insane to sign a 2 year bond. It's a sure fire way to throw away 9 grand when you get a call from the regionals after a year. No hiring going on, unemployment rate still going up, watch the news, hundreds of jobs being cut, I can't remember l...

Re: ATPL licence
In the real world of flying we do things differently, in actual fact flying IFR is about the easiest form of flying, VFR flight and keeping the ground in sight is the hardest, ask any bush pilot, So have fun with your Microsoft flight computer maybe someday all the time spent on it will be of value...

Bonds at companies also doing lay offs.
Just curious how some of the boys in western Canada are dealing with the uncertainty in the charter/corporate flying out there. What's the feeling for guys working at the Air Partners, Sunwests, Cariboos that are currently laying off employees on different A/C types but are still under bonds themsel...

Who in their right mind that has a job now, or even the possibility of a seasonal recall (pasco) would want to move to Saskatchewan.

Does Porter allow commuting? If so do many pilots commute/common places where they commute from?
Thanks

Re: Porter CSeries/Airport Expansion
Was in Toronto this week and out for a stroll downtown. As I looked around the first thing that came to mind was good thing there are people fighting to keep that airport smaller and keep jets out. It would be a shame if I was distracted by a busier airport and miss seeing the piles of garbage, home...

I've heard $60 000 for captain $35 000 for FO schedule is 8 days a month off but due to the type of work they will be fliud I sincerely hope this post is a joke intended to mock encore/jazz starting pay. I've heard of Skyservice paying 1st year jet fo's 60k on light to medium jets and 85k for large...

. The biggest thing to change in my mind is the experience of ppl getting on. I've heard first hand there's been 1000hr be20 fo's in recent classes. With the need for that many more and the pay offered in return maybe it'll get to the point they're hiring fresh 200hr guys regularly next. I still re...

Hi all, Just curious if anyone knows what happens if you wash out of training? Are you offered the opportunity to maybe step down to Flight Service, or VFR/etc or is that end of the line for you at NAVCANADA? . I hate it when people think that FSS or VFR is a step down from IFR. It's not! Not every...

Re: Any Type rated 737 Canadian pilots still out there ?
Where was the ad? Was it well publicized and circulated? I know there was a discussion on here about it, but not everyone reads AvCanada. Also was it restricted to current 737 Captains? I have a hard time seeing someone with a full time 737 job being interested in a part time 737 job. Maybe a WJ or...

Orca has the reputation of being on of the lowest paying companies out there. Along with Carson. Seems like they need people fast. I think Sunwest is loosing that bag run for sure. I think they use the Metro and/or the Navajo. Both of the types That Orca has. People from Sunwest could jump ship...b...

No. The 1900d is an efis aircraft, but in no way is it close to being a glass cockpit aircraft.

Nickynick if youre infact not just trolling, perhaps the fact you mentioned 1900fo and only a 705 operation has something to do with it. Maybe that's also something you included in your cover letter? If so I suggest reviewing 704/705 regs.
